AVFUEL ANNOUNCES 19TH ANNUAL AVTRIP SCHOLARSHIP WINNER

LAS VEGAS, Nev. / October 10, 2017 / GENERAL AVIATION NEWS – Avfuel Corporation announces Joshua Manley—corporate captain—of Cedar Park, Texas, the 2017 AVTRIP Scholarship recipient. The scholarship provides Manley with $2,000 to support his goal of obtaining a Certified Aviation Manager designation from the National Business Aviation Association.

“We’ve been awarding this scholarship for 19 years and the joy we feel to help an aspiring aviator never gets old,” said Marci Ammerman, vice president of marketing for Avfuel. “Manley’s passion for aviation education leapt off the application page and stood out to our committee. His values mirror those of Avfuel’s and exemplify the purpose of this scholarship. We’re excited to support his professional development journey.”

The scholarship will help Manley obtain his CAM designation from NBAA, which will assist in his ultimate goal to obtain a management position with a corporate flight department one day.

"Earning the NBAA’s Certified Aviation Manager certification has been a long-time goal of mine,” said Manley. “I have always felt that continuing to better one’s self through education is one of the most crucial steps in combating professional and personal complacency. Thanks to this generous scholarship from AVTRIP, I will get the chance to learn and demonstrate my knowledge as an aviation professional, while working toward attaining my Certified Aviation Manager designation."

Manley continued, “… [I believe] aviation professionals should continually work toward personal improvement through professional engagement and professional image. Continuing my education through research and coursework in preparation for the CAM certification program helps maintain my focus toward continuous improvement and professional engagement.”

In addition to Manley’s continued education, he’s an avid subscriber to media outlets such as the FAA’s “New Rulemaking Announcements” and industry news sources to stay abreast of relevant topics and improve his technical and social aviation knowledge.

Due to the caliber of this year’s applicant pool, Avfuel also awarded two additional scholarships of $500 each to help more aviators reach their educational and professional goals.
