MAC Air Group (KPWM) to Add FBO Services in 2016 and Join Avfuel Network

FEBRUARY 2,2016 / GENERAL AVIATION NEWS / PORTLAND, MAINEMAC Air Group of Maine Aviation Corporation joins the Avfuel network as it adds FBO services this spring to its 57 year resume in aviation with MAC Jets LLC.

“We look forward to further serving the aviation community as an FBO facility,” said Allyn Caruso, owner of Maine Aviation Corporation. “We’re a three-generation family business, passionate about aviation and providing service that’s second-to-none. We wanted to partner with a fuel supplier with those same values—family, passion, quality service—which is why we’ve decided to take this next step with Avfuel Corporation. It couldn’t be a better match.”

In order to further accommodate its guests, MAC Air Group is building a new 43,000 square foot facility for MAC Jets in addition to its existing 15,000 square foot maintenance facility at KPWM. As the only facility on the south side of the airport field, guests will enjoy a private flying location.

In addition to seclusion, the south-side location avoids airport congestion—with easy access to the major highway, guests can arrive in downtown Portland in just seven minutes, closer than any other operation on the airport field. Adjacent to the main runway, pilots will find flying in and taking off exceptionally convenient while guests can de-board and drive away in mere minutes for traveling made easy.

As a company that specializes in charter, sales and maintenance, MAC Air Group operates 18 jets and is itself an FBO customer. With nearly 60 years of insight, they know what it means to provide exceptional service.

"Our success is a result of our dedication to total customer satisfaction—our number one business objective," said Caruso. "Our broad range of services and capabilities permit us to offer a full complement of professional support, soon to include FBO services." Avfuel Corporation is no stranger to MAC Air Group, having provided the company with contract fuel for its charter business these past nine years.

“We eagerly welcome MAC Air Group to the Avfuel network as a branded FBO,” said Joel Hirst, vice president of sales for Avfuel Corporation. “The Caruso family’s dedication to the industry is inspiring and we’re pleased to have them on board—they add great value to the Avfuel network as an elite establishment.”

ABOUT MAC AIR GROUP
For nearly 60 years, Maine Aviation Corporation, dba MAC Air Group, has provided aviation services to the general and corporate aviation communities. In 1947, brothers Joe and Tom Caruso, just out of the military after World War II, started flying scenic flights from Southwest Harbor, Maine. By their third year, the brothers leased the Bar Harbor Airport, finding a permanent home for their aviation business. Then, in 1959, Joe Caruso moved his family to Portland, where he established Maine Aviation Corporation.

Fifty-seven years later, MAC Air Group, under the leadership of Joe’s son Allyn, is a world-class company providing aviation services globally with the same consistent focus on quality, reliability and safety. Today, Al Caruso operates MAC Air Group with his wife, Alysan, and younger son, Travis, the company's director of maintenance, providing their customers with international charter; aircraft management; aircraft sales, acquisition and leasing; maintenance, parts and avionics; and now, fixed base operations and fuel.
