Pilots voted, McKinney Air Center at McKinney National Airport earns national recognition as #1 for third consecutive year: ATC Tower and Customs voted #2 in Pilots’ Choice Awards

McKINNEY, Texas (Dec. 21, 2018) – McKinney Air Center, the fixed based operator (FBO) at McKinney National Airport, earned the prestigious designation as best in the nation in the 2018 Pilots’ Choice Awards by FltPlan.com for the third consecutive year. It is the fifth win overall for the FBO. The Pilots’ Choice awards are voted by pilots and aviation professionals directly using the FBOs.

McKinney Air Center also earned #1 Regional FBO in the South Central U.S. region and #2 Star FBO, which is determined using airport arrival data, votes received and on-field competition.

The Pete and Nancy Huff Air Traffic Control Tower at McKinney National Airport was named #2 in the Pilots’ Choice Awards. The air traffic controllers at McKinney National Airport, who are employed by Robinson Aviation, Inc., compete against all control towers in the United States, including those operated by the Federal Aviation Administration. Additionally, McKinney National Airport earned the #2 spot for their U.S. Customs and Border Protection services.

“This recognition by industry peers is a testament to the airport’s efforts to deliver on our commitment to offer an unparalleled customer experience to all those who use our airport,” said Ken Carley, Director of the McKinney National Airport. “These awards confirm why we are proud to be investing in the future of our airport, which will better meet the needs of regional employers and help welcome even more people and jobs to our community and region.”
