Avfuel Makes Strides as Industry's Largest "Network of Indendents"

ORLANDO, Fla. / October 28, 2016 / GENERAL AVIATION NEWS /  With the rise of FBO consolidation, Avfuel has adapted its solutions and programs to benefit independent FBOs as a “Network of Independents”—most notably, retooling the industry’s most popular loyalty program, AVTRIP, creating the Avfuel Network Referral and Avfuel Network Rewards systems, and enhancing its training platform.

With its toolbox of solutions, the Avfuel Network supports an FBO’s independence while still providing comprehensive services that rival those offered by the large chains, thereby offering these operations the competitive advantage they need to compete in an evolving marketplace.

SUPPORT FOR INDEPENDENTS
With this all-inclusive support, independent FBOs in the Avfuel Network thrive even in adapting landscapes. Though Avfuel Network FBOs operate independently—offering a uniquely refreshing experience at each location—the Avfuel brand, at 650 locations strong, provides independents the benefit of a large chain and more.

  • AVTRIP Enhancements: Using AVTRIP, FBOs can encourage fuel uplift and increase ramp traffic garnering the strength of a network of 550+. Heading into 2017, Avfuel is unleashing new AVTIP tiers (silver, gold and platinum). With the retool, pilots are further rewarded by their loyalty to the network, earning higher rewards with higher tiers. Pilots move up tiers by taking more fuel or visiting more unique FBO locations, benefiting both the operator and Network FBOs.
  • Avfuel Network Referrals: With the new system, Avfuel-branded FBOs are given access to a simplified online tool to refer one another, earning the opportunity to secure more new business.
  • Avfuel Network Rewards: With this second new system, FBO staff personnel who become Network Members are rewarded for interacting with the Avfuel Network. With its launch, Network Members will be rewarded for making referrals with points that translate to awards.
  • Training: Avfuel’s Online Fuel Handling Training Course helps FBOs handle turnover, training new employees and covering recurrent training needs. One subscription per FBO ensures the Avfuel Network has access to cost-effective training that exceeds industry standards, assuring flight departments and operators they will receive the highest quality of service at every Network location. In 2016, Avfuel added six new training lessons to the program and will release training lessons on security, operations and sales in 2017. Furthermore, Avfuel-branded dealers will have access to a new online customer service training lesson in the first quarter of 2017 to supplement Avfuel’s onsite customer service training session.
  • Contract Fuel: A powerful sales team works with flight departments to negotiate contract fuel pricing in record time, increasing ramp traffic and garnering loyal relationships for recurring business. Offering Avfuel Contract Fuel puts FBOs in front of industry decision makers, deciding where to buy fuel with technology at their fingertips.
  • Marketing: An entire in-house marketing team works with FBOs to enhance visibility and attract traffic, creating personalized marketing support while leveraging the power of a global brand. Most recently, Avfuel added a marketing toolbox on its FBO Dashboard as a resource for its branded locations to learn more about marketing tactics.
  • Technology: The Avfuel Hub online payment processor makes transactions efficient and gives FBOs access to important data along with an efficient customer lookup tool. Avfuel’s updated website makes it simple for customers to find FBO locations and a new blog serves as a useful tool on industry topics for all Avfuel customers.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDEPENDENTS

Though the rise in FBO consolidation has decreased the number of choices for operators at airports around the country, FBOs in the Avfuel Network benefit from strength in numbers and are able to compete in a consolidated landscape with the industry’s most complete lineup of FBO solutions. After all, there will always be a demand for the independents: airports with high-enough volume view competition positively, creating a situation for new FBOs to move onto the field where monopolies exist, adding choice for operators and a market that supports the independent FBO. That’s how the market works—ebbing and flowing, always changing.

And that’s where Avfuel excels: recognizing change and adapting its services to the needs of its customers so branded FBOs never miss a beat. Even in a consolidating landscape, there will always be a need and an opportunity for the independent FBO, and the Avfuel Network will always be available to assist in every way possible: a champion for independents as a “Network of Independents.”
