Avfuel Brings Expanded Team and Partner Network to SDC2026

Growth supports network expansion and further elevates customer experience

ANN ARBOR, Mich. / MARCH 23, 2026 / AVIATION NEWS—Avfuel Corporation, the leading independent supplier of aviation fuel and services, welcomed 28 new team members—including five dedicated to sales—in the last 12 months to support its expanding network and enhance the customer experience.

The growth comes as Avfuel heads to SDC2026 in Cleveland, Ohio, where 56 staff members will be on hand to connect with customers and showcase the company’s array of aviation services—including sustainable programs, contract fuel, Avplan Trip Support, Avsurance, marketing, commercial fuel and global fuel supply.

Four of Avfuel’s newest hires will travel with the team to SDC2026, and look forward to connecting with attendees on operational initiatives:

Jason Torrez, vice president of information services and technology, has more than 25 years of experience leading technology transformation, cybersecurity initiatives, enterprise IT strategy and enterprise resource planning (ERP) optimization—including 13 years with GE Aviation.

Sam Talsma, analyst for sustainability & operations, helps grow Avfuel's carbon credit and sustainability reporting programs while guiding customers through carbon offset and environmental, social and governance (ESG) solutions. He joins Avfuel with a passion for data analysis, decarbonization and science communication.

Sandra Costa, area manager for South and Central America, supports operator, airport and FBO customers across these regions, strengthening relationships and expanding Avfuel’s presence in key international markets. Prior to joining Avfuel, Costa held roles with JETEX and Sheltair. She brings strong connections throughout the Latin American market along with more than 15 years of experience to her role at Avfuel.

Jeremy Sobolik, area manager for the mountain states, works closely with FBO partners and operators to deliver tailored fuel solutions and responsive customer support throughout the region. Previously with Fargo Jet Center—an Avfuel-branded partner—he brings nearly 30 years of industry experience to the role.

Visitors to SDC2026 can meet these team members—along with 80 co-exhibiting partners—at the Avfuel Booth (#375) and throughout the Avfuel Aisles (300–500).

“We’re proud to bring a strong team and impressive lineup of trusted partners to SDC2026, making it easier than ever for customers to connect with the fueling locations they rely on,” said Jonathan Boyle, Avfuel’s vice president contract fuel and bulk fuel sales. “Avfuel’s continued expansion strengthens support across all business lines and divisions while reinforcing the people-first culture of care that has defined our company for more than 50 years.”

In addition to expanding its team, Avfuel also welcomed 28 branded FBOs over the last 12 months—growing its network and staff 1:1. In doing so, Avfuel further enhances network accessibility and service capabilities worldwide.
