Over the Sound of Incoming Aircraft is the Roar of the 59th Daytona 500 as Sheltair Rolls Out the Red Carpet for NASCAR Fans

DAYTONA BEACH, FL. / February 15, 2017 / GENERAL AVIATION NEWS – The 59th running of the legendary Daytona 500 is arriving right on time, and Sheltair is preparing to welcome NASCAR fans from across the United States and around the world who will deplane at Sheltair’s FBO facility at Daytona International Airport (DAB), Florida, to enjoy the sights and sounds of auto racing’s Holy Grail. 

 Pre-race action actually begins February 17th, with the starting flag going down on the legendary endurance contest come February 25th at Daytona Speedway. The world famous track is walking distance from Sheltair’s terminal, but the company provides shuttle vans as a matter of course for those stepping out of their aircraft. 

Karen Kroeppel, Sheltair’s Director of Marketing, explained, “There is a tempo in our aviation operations at DAB that matches the rising anticipation of the Daytona 500. From ramp parking and support logistics to making sure our reception center is triple staffed, we are ready for the surge in arrivals as we are expecting up to 600 operations during the week. What is always a pleasant surprise for our arriving flight crews is that no slot times are required.” 

She also observed, “I suspect many of our guests anxiously await the 11 months to come back and enjoy the thrill of this event. With plenty of parking, and our proximity to the racetrack, it makes getting to this race trouble free.”
